A: I have a Chevy Aveo and I get approximately 35 miles to the gallon. I drive an hour each day to work and spend no more than $25 per week on gas. I love it for it's design and efficiency.

A: not a good idea..the car is cheap and not very stable....there are many other better cars in this class....if you want a small car and cheap go with Toyota...i would recommend the Toyota yaris....34/40 mpg..the price starts from $10,480 - $13,525
never breaks down and will never lose its value unlike the Aveo....
you could pay a lil more for Toyota Matrix, Toyota Corolla

A: if there are a set of two holes on either side of the radio. either go to a car stereo shop and buy the tool required, or use a metal coat hanger. If it doesn't have the holes, start taking the molding off from around the unit itself, until you uncover the screws.

A: I have an '06 Cobalt Coupe,I love it,gets great gas mileage and I haven't had any problems other than a couple of things that were recalled and of course they were fixed for free. It's a pretty cool little car,I say go for it! Good luck with whatever you choose.

I am looking for a very inexpensive, safe, fuel efficient car for my 16 year old daughter. How is the Aveo? Does anyone own one? Do you like it?
A: Its small, but would be good for a new driver. I opted to buy the G6 sedan instead. I purchased it for 15,000 new and I love it! It's been a great car, came with free on-star for one year which I have already had to use (I locked my two year old daughter in the car oops!). It has great safety features. Sorry I couldn't tell you about the aveo but if you are looking for a little more room check out the G6.

Q: How does one change the interior air filter in a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo?
The dealer has changed the filter once last year and that cost me a bit of cash. Does anyone know how I can change the filter myself?
By interior air filter, I mean the cabin air filter.
A: First off, I suggest cleaning often instead of changing due to the cost. However, it may be difficult to get to on this model.
First and oldest location of the cabin air filter would be under the cowling of the windshield. Open up the engine compartment and look on the passenger side just below the bottom of the windshield. There may be an access area to remove just the filter, or the complete cowl must be removed, including the wiper arms. If you have your old invoice when the dealer changed this, check the labor hours and amount. That would be a dead giveaway that the cowl must be removed.
On newer models, the cabin air filter is located inside the glovebox. The very front will give you access to it via a removeable panel.
When you have the filter removed, simply flip it upside down and drop it flat on concrete or asphalt several times. This will dislodge most of the larger trapped particles. Compressed air can be used as well. DON'T use water...they are paper filiments.
Then simply reinsert and reinstall any access panels and you're good to go for another month or two. I would suggest cleaning it three or four times before a replacement is needed.

A: The dealer who sold you the car should be able to do this for you, free of charge in about 15 minutes...if you just recently bought the car, which I am assuming since this is its first plate.
Q: I have a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo that constantly surges when driving 55 MPH.?
The car will rev for about 3 seconds and then coast for the same amount of time. It does this constantly, most noticeable at 55 to 60 MPH. I had it in to dealer(Kruger Motors, Worthington,MN) last week , they say nothing is wrong. Car has only 3000 miles and has done this from the start. Car is getting under 30 MPG. Any Ideas?
A: I know this sounds lame, but are you driving with the climate control set to defrost? Many G.M. cars have the a.c. pump oscillate off and on when you run the defroster. Try it both ways, on floor heat and defrost. If it doesn't surge when switched to floor heat, then your a.c. compressor may be going bad, thus pulling too hard, and robbing power from the engine. Most new cars have much more effecient compressors than a few years ago. On the older small engine cars, running the a.c. or defrost would lower fuel economy by as much as 20%. Good luck.
Q: Are the rear headrests removable in a Chevrolet Aveo?
We had four people trying to remove the headrests in order to fit a child seat and none of us could manage it. Is it some sort of misguided safety feature or are we just a bit thick for not managing it?
The manual was no help, before anyone tells me to look at that.
A: Suggest going to a Chevrolet Dealer and asking them to do it, I have a Kalos and have removed middle headrest without a problem as it restricted view from rear window.
