Q: What do u think of the 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
I just got a Chrysler PT Cruiser-2005 with 19,000 miles on it? what do u think of them? are they any good?
A: I'm a fan of Chrysler, but I wouldn't buy a used one, ESPECIALLY one made in between 198(?)-2007. In the 80's and 90's (I'm not sure if they did it into the 2000's) Chrysler stamped the parts of their transmissions instead of machining them, resulting in much lower quality. Also, from 1998 to 2007, Chrysler was owned by Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes, which resulted in a huge drop in quality for both companies. It would be best to stick to a car that isn't Chrysler if you're buying used (at least, before the late 80's.) Anything before that and after 2007 is generally decent quality. Remember, a lot of the car depends on how well you take care of it.
Q: Is the steering on a Chrysler PT Cruiser supposed to be so much tighter than on other modern cars?
I mean it has PAS obviously but it drives more like cars used to years ago than today with regards to the steering. Is this normal for the PT Cruiser?

A: The prices are relative low for PT Cruisers because they have been around longer than the HHR, outsell the HHR, and you will find them in various conditions. Check out the J.D. Power 3yr report on PT Cruisers quality and reliability (rates highly 4 out of 5). Always check out any used car carefully before you buy. By the way, the HHR was designed by the same person who designed the PT Cruiser. He left Chrysler to join General Motors.

Q: Should I take a Bright Blue Chrysler PT Cruiser?
I am getting my license in about a month and i don't have a car. My grandma is offering me her bright blue chrysler PT Cruiser-2004. I am a 17 year old boy going into my senior year. Do you consider a PT cruiser a girl car? And if you were in my situation would you drive that car or wait and try to buy your own cheap car? Thanks
A: Take the car. Be sure to check the tires for bubbles or cracks. Also make sure the radiator is filled, as PTs tend to overheat. I actually drove one as a work vehicle for a locksmithing company, and had two tires blow out, and it overheated a few times in summer (granted it is about 109 degrees in vegas). It's by no means a "girly car". You'll definitely be in better shape than the people at school with NO car.
Q: Where is the radiator fan switch located on a Chrysler PT Cruiser with a 2.4 liter engine?
I am speaking of the fan switch. I don't need the location of the fan relays which lay beneath the battery I am told.
Yeah, its the electric fan thermostat, or whatever you want to call them. It does the same thing. Please don't refer me to other sites, that really doesn't help. I have looked through forums, and ran different search engines like google, and this didn't help. If you don't know the answer don't respond.
A: I own a shop, and what you need to do is this; First check the fuse for the fan/fans. Establish that you have power (12 volts), and the fan is making a good ground. You can unhook the wires to the fan, and hot wire it to test the fan motor, and then follow the wires from the fan back to the relay, and from the relay back to the thermo-switch (temp sending unit) which is usually located in the top portion of the engine, and most of the time around the water outlet that houses the thermostat. Since this switch works off ground, you can unplug it, and jump the two connectors together, and the fan should come on, if the relay is good. If not; then replace the relay.

Q: For a first car would you recommend a Chrysler PT cruiser?
My friends and I were talking about getting a job and getting our own cars. My friend said he wanted a Ford Explorer, I on the other hand want a non gas guzzling car, like the PT crusier. I just want some advice from people who've owned one or driven one what are the advantages and disadvantages and is it an easy car to get used to.
btw I'm currently looking at used ones and when buying for a used car what must I look out for and what should I look for in a car.
A: If I were you I would look at the Scion XB. It is the boxy car made by Toyota. It gets about 32 MPG on the highway for me and about 28 MPG around town. It is not exceptionally fast, but neither is the PT Cruiser. I was surprised at the size of boxes I could fit inside with the easy-to-fold back seats.

I think the air filter is in the way, is it difficult to remove?

A: because it is an 05 - it may have a 7- 70 warranty - call a dealer for coverage - water pump woulod be covered & it will cost you $100 dedect + tax
Q: How much is it going to cost to replace a timing belt for a 2002 chrysler PT cruiser?
A: Labor time called for is 3.6 so lets say you are being charged $80.00 per hour then just labor alone would be $288.00 plus the belt. Here is some advise also. Replace the Water Pump on this thing also! Will be much cheaper since the timing belt needs to be removed for this job and more then likely this pumps always go bad. Look at how much labor you are already spending not to replace water pump because if you say no and 2 months down the road it starts leaking then you are going to pay all that labor once again just to get access to it. Don't think you are being ripped off if they offer it to you also. jump on it because it will save you money on the long run.
