Q: Chrysler Sebring?
Is a 2005 Chrysler Sebring(non convertable) a chick car?

A: no

Q: How to open an automatic lock on 2005 Chrysler Sebring?
I have a 2005 Chrysler Sebring Touring and my keys are locked in the car. It is my only set of keys and I need to get into my car one way or another. Any ideas on how to get them out without busting out my window or anything like that?? I called the police department and they wont open it up for me and the pop-a-lock place is way to expensive. Help please!! Serious answers ONLY.

A: Take the last nine numbers of the cars VIN to your local dealer and they can cut you a key for three to five dollars. Or have someone else pick it up from the dealer for you if you are stranded. they can cut you a new key that will get you in the door with just the VIN.

Q: Is it possible to swap for a bigger engine in my chrysler sebring convertible?
I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible i was wondering if it is possible to put in a bigger engine in the Sebring weather it be a bigger v6 or even a v8 engine this is a question that i have been trying tofind an answer to but just can't seem to find.

A: Anything is possible if you have the money or know how. Short answer is no unless you own a race shop wherer you can make a race car. V8 will never fit. it is a FWD car. You won't get any V8 to work with it. V6 would have to be a newer one to be more powerful and the transmission would have to match it. If you are able to build a car from scratch then you probably could. Otherwise, no chance.

Q: 1996 Chrysler Sebring Convertible- What's the problem with the car?
Hi, I will try to give as many details as possible about my 1996 Chrysler Sebring JXI convertible. It has about 100,000 miles on it. One day, the "service engine soon" area near the speedometer lit up. I planned to service the engine, but the next day, the car would not start (battery completely shot- no noise when I turned the key in the ignition). I jumped it and it was back to normal- I ran it long enough, I thought, to make sure it kept the charge. I also got the battery checked out at a mechanic, and the mechanic said it was fine. The car was running ok for a few days and the oil icon was lit up (I planned to change the oil as a result). Now, it won't start again and I am planning to jump it when I get back home from work. But I am wondering... what exactly is the problem with the car? Is it the battery? Is it something else? Thanks!

A: It's really hard to get the battery out of your Sebring to test it.Maybe you already know that the left front wheel is in the way of an access panel that is screwed in to the fender liner. Then the battery is bolted in a tight spot making it a serious effort to remove. The battery needs to come out of there for testing, but by the sound of it.it's probably 95% worn out anyway from being discharged too much. The alternator should be verified too.

Q: How do you find and replace the thermostat housing on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring?
The car is a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Limited V6-167 2.7L DOHC. Anyone know where to find a how-to guide for this?

A: The following instructions come from my Hanes Repair Manual #25040 for the replacement of a thermostat on the 2.7 L engine: 1. Raise the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. Remove the right front wheel. Remove the accessory drivebelt splash shield. 2. Remove the accessory drivebelts. 3. Remove the lower alternator mounting bolt. 4. Lower the vehicle. 5. Disconnect the alternator electrical connectors. 6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the air conditioning compressor. 7. Remove the oil dipstick and the dipstick tube. Plug the hole in the oil pan with a clean shop rag to prevent debris from entering the pan. 8. Remove the rest of the alternator mounting bolts and then remove the alternator. 9. Loosen the hose clamps and then disconnect the two hoses from the thermostat housing cover. 10. Remove the thermostat housing cover bolts and then remove the housing. 11. Note how the thermostat is installed, with the "jiggle valve" at the 12 o'clock position, and then remove the thermostat. 12. Remove all traces of sealant from the housing and coverr with a gasket scraper. 13. Install the thermostat housing cover and then tighten the bolts to the correct torque. 14. Reattach the hoses to the thermostat housing cover. Make sure that the hose clamps are still tight. 15. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of the removal. 16. When you're done, refill the cooling system. 17. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature, then check for leaks and proper thermostat operation.

Q: How much does it cost to have a starter, battery and distributor replaced on my 98 Chrysler Sebring V6 Coupe?
What is the hourly price in AL and how much time does it take to replace a starter, battery and distributor on my 98 Chrysler Sebring? OMG, i got screwed by a local auto shop, they charged me 943.00 for replacing those items. My distributor was just replaced 6 weeks ago, my battery last week. Im gonna call my better business bureau.

A: First question is why the distributor? has a mechanic gave you a reason as to what is wrong with it? It's not an item that usually needs replaced,as a battery or a starter. Be sure you have a dependable shop, and get two quotes

Q: How hard will it be to Turbocharge my Chrysler Sebring?
I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring 2.4L and well, it's just not fast enough. I just can't seam to find a single performance part for this car or a turbo kit. How hard is it to Turbocharge this car? I know it's possible because I've seen articles on people who have turbocharged non-turbo cars before. I was thinking if I get the head milled a couple 10ths of an inch I can bump my compression a little bit but I don't want to throw a rod or melt a piston. Valve clearance isn't a problem for me. I just don't want to blow a hole in the side of the block. NOS is cheap and easy but can produce problems too. Especially without the right tuning and timing. Maybe port and polish the head and open up the intake and exhaust inlets and outlets some will produce a little bit ah HP. Ultimately I'd like to push 300HP out of this engine. Any ideas?

A: I'm pretty sure that is the same basic engine as the one used in the PT Cruiser Turbo and the SRT-4. (Note: The coupe that year may have used a different engine, as it was based on the Eclipse.) If so, you should be able to adapt the parts from either of the two turbo versions of the motor I mentioned, or the Mexican Stratus R/T. Or better yet, swap in the whole engine. It will be a lot of work, so I would not recommend a project like that if this car is your only means of transportation.

Q: I have an 07 Chrysler Sebring & the airbag light is on. What fuse number fixes that problem? ?
I have a 2007 Chrysler Sebring and the 'check airbag' light is on. What steps do I take to fix this problem? I would like to know which fuse controls this feature.

Q: I'm planning to purchase a 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX 2 door coupe, with the 2.4L engine, are they reliable?
I'm planning on buying a used 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX with the 2.4L I4 engine, with 69k miles on it. I've heard horror stories about the 2.7L V6 engine, but I haven't heard much about the 2.4L, are they a lot more reliable?

A: 2.4's are very reliable engines with very few problems. The first 2.7's had serious problems with getting sludge if oil wasn't changed religuosly at 3000 miles. However, some Toyota engines also had the exact same problems in some of their engines with getting sludge. (I won't forget to mention that VW also had a lot of problems with sludge in their engines, just for fairness sake.) In fact, if you google "toyota engine sludge", you will get a whole lot more results than what "chrysler engine sludge" pulls up. The sludge issue is just one of the many reasons Consumer Reports downgraded Toyota's rankings recently.

Q: difference between the 1998 and the 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible?

A: As far as I remember there is not any differences between the 97 and 98. The models did not change until 2000 or 2001.

Q: What is the specs for the 1998 Chrysler Sebring JX?
Hi i was manly wondering how much mpg can i get for a 1998 Chrysler Sebring JX. And any other cool information about it does it have a cd player anythig. but manly the mpg.

A: umm lets seee The total price was $26,660 It was equipped with such options as the 2.5-liter, 24-valve 6-cylinder engine, the AutoStick transmission--an automatic that can be shifted like a stick shift an Infinity stereo system with cassette, CD player, 150-watt amplifier, premium speakers and graphic equalizer and a luxury convenience package that consisted of a HomeLink garage door opener integrated into the driver's side visor and an inside rearview mirror with the day/night feature. The Sebring JXi was powered by the optional 2.5-liter, 168-hp V6. The V6 was so nimble that they didnt think their sportier side would be happy with the standard 2.4-liter, 150-hp four-banger if u need more stats go to http://www.internetautoguide.com/reviews/45-int/sports-cars/chrysler/sebring/1998/index.html
