Q: What is the difference in the Dodge Neon ES and the Neon Highline?
I currently have a Dodge neon ES but am thinking of trading it for a car a year newer that is a neon highline with less miles. What is the difference in the 2 types.. ES vs. Highline?
Its the SE edition.
A: It depends on the year. Different years had different trim levels ( and different options versus standard features ).
Q: How does an automatic dodge neon shifter get stuck?
My dodge neon wont go in reverse and when its in neutral it drives along with in every other drive gear.Is there anyway to fix that and about how much would it cost?
A: it,s probably the shifting linkage. it,s either binding or needs adjusted.
Q: How do you change the light on the trunk on a dodge neon?
I have an 2001 dodge neon and the the brake light that is located in the middle of the trunk lid is out. I have the bulb and everything i just can't figure out how to get it in there.
A: go to the store, buy another light bulb. Pop the trunk, and access the light, it should twist and then pull out, remove the old bulb, install the new one, push in the new bulb and twist the socket again, step on the brakes and the light should work again.
Q: How much would it cost me to replace a automatic transmission in a 2003 dodge neon se?
I don't know whats wrong with my dodge neon? the car has a issue that when im going at high speeds (55 or 70) and coming to a stop. it always jerks at 25 mph. i took it to the dealer ship and they told me that they really didn't know what the problems is. but they did say that it might be the the valves are sticky. i think it might be the transmission. it also only haves 88,000 miles.
A: take it to a repair shop that deals with nothing but transmissions and let them test drive it,they will do this for free, then they can tell you whats causing that too happen if its not slipping then it doesn't need a transmission just a repair, any transmission shop will be glad to do his for you,if you do have to replace it your looking at about 1800 to get it rebuilt,i got a friend that does this for a living and he,s considered to be high on them and that's what he charges, you can price one out on this site they ave the best ones in the business, and come with a 3 year 75 thousand mile warranty, they sell engines and transmissions, good luck.http://www.jasperengines.com/
Q: When can i get a rebuilt dodge neon engine?
Im about to buy a '97 Dodge Neon but the engine has 197 thousand miles and I wanted to know where i can get a new engine when I need it.
A: junkyard sells them and there are a lot of engine builders that sell rebuilt engines, look in the yellow pages in your area for engine remanufactorers, I hope your your getting the car for a real good price as a new engine and labor could cost you as much as $3,000 or more.
Q: How do I remove my windshield wiper blade on my '03 Dodge Neon?
I can't figure out how to get the driver's side windshield wiper blade off of my '03 Dodge Neon. There's a button-type thing on the underside of where the blade attaches to the arm, I tried pushing and prying it, but still couldn't get the blade off.
I feel ridiculous, I'm usually pretty capable with this sort of thing--please help!
A: Gotta use a flathead screwdriver to partially lift the catch prior to depressing this button.
Q: How to put more than one CD in a 5-disc changer in a dodge neon?
I just bought a 2003 Dodge Neon and it has a 5 Disc Changer. But I can't figure out how to get more than one disc in it. The book don't say anything either. Anyone know?
It's just a one slot player, but i tried putting it in when one's in there but it just says disc error and won't let the new one go in.
A: Indash 5-disc changers don't use cartridges. There is usually a button on the unit labeled "Load". Press it. Sometimes it will tell you to insert a disc or will prompt you to select the disc slot (1,2,3,4, or 5). Select the location you want to load it and wait until the unit prompts you to insert the CD.
Q: Would changing the transmission filter on a 1997 Dodge Neon and changing the fluid help?
My 1997 Dodge Neon with a single overhead cam and a 3 speed automatic transmission, 3rd gear and reverse are out. Would changing the transmission filter and flushing the fluid and putting new fluid in help and maybe bring these gears back? I was told from a friend that works on cars that if reverse goes out, then 1st should go with it because they're tied together. So if anyone can help with some ideas that would be appreciated.
A: no new fluid will not help mechanical failure cannot be reversed with a filter/fluid that would be like saying you could fix a knocking rod in your engine by changing the motor oil and filter it just doesnt work i would either find a used low mileage trans or a rebuilt one but if your not able to do the work yourself then the cost will probably equal what the car is worth but at least then you know what you have
Q: How much should a tune up for a 2000 Dodge Neon cost?
I have a 2000 dodge Neon and I would like to have a tune up since I never had one (I know its wrong of me). I was wondering how much should a tune up cost and are they any particular places I should go have this done in Houston, TX?
A: if you want to do it yourself, change the plugs and plug wires. everything else is electronic. just make sure the plugs are gaped correctly before you install them. if you take it to a shop to be done, it should run about 120.00 (parts & labor). you may find something cheaper or will include an oil change too.
Q: Would it be a good economic decision to buy a Dodge Neon knowing they don't make them anymore?
Im looking to buy a car and I'm interested in a 2000 Dodge Neon. I'm kind of hesitant to buy it because they're not being made anymore and what if something goes wrong with it and I need a part or some of the sort. Would it be easy to find? What's your professional opinion?
Thanks for your answers!
A: No car from 2000 would share major parts with it's newer counterpart anyway, so the fact that they don't use that name anymore shouldn't bother you. For example, a 2000 Civic is a completely different car than a new one.
Chrysler sold a lot of Neons, you won't have any issues getting parts for it for a long time. Just get it looked at by a mechanic first to make sure it doesn't have any problems now, before you buy it. And - carfax!
Q: Would the parts from a 1994 Dodge spirit transmission be transferable to a 1997 Dodge neon transmission?
My 1997 Dodge Neon transmission is done for, and i have an old 1994 Dodge spirit sitting in the yard with a perfectly good transmission, they're both 3 speed automatic transmissions, i was wondering if i could possibly put together one good transmission from the two together.
A: many parts will be the same even between a front drive and a rear wheel drive trans, but you will need to check with both transmission apart.I would expect that both of these will be exactly the same if they are from Chrysler engines,no Mitsu stuff will match
Q: is there a legend to the fuse panel of a 2001 dodge neon?
Im trying to figure out which fuse goes to each device in the 2001 dodge neon. Particularly to my radio since it died about three months ago and recently came back on after having recieved a jumpstart due to a dead battery. It would be helpful to gain this information in knowing the map of the fuses.
I need to find a legend to my fuse panel on my car. The panel cover, itself, does not have any indication as to what goes where and I do not understand most of the abbreviations.
A: Generally the grid for the fuse panel is on the cover for it. When you look at the grid you may notice fuse placements for options that your car does not have, these should simply be empty slots in the panel. If your radio is aftermarket, you may want to have its connections checked as well. You may also find the grid in your owners manual. If all else fails, you can check on line for a fuse grid or go to a Dodge dealership.
