Q: Ford Bronco 2 will run but when on the road the engine will stall out. What is the cause of this?
I have an 88 Ford Bronco 2 4x4 2.9L V6 with a rebuild engine and transmission. This problem started in the summer while on the highway I notice that at first the gas pedle felt loose then the engine light went on and I lost accleration. At first I when I tried to get it to start it would turn over but would die. But it started up the next day and didn't have a problem until it happened again. I replaced the ignition modular, gave it a tune up, replaced the battery, and replaced the fuel pump in the gas tank. The problem still persists and to make it worst its intermittent which makes it difficult to find. I was wondering if it could be the computer for the truck and how I could troubleshoot it. Thank for any help. I have an 88 Ford Bronco 2 4x4 2.9L V6 with a rebuild engine and transmission. The temperature has nothing to do with it due to the fact I live in Michigan and it was 40 degrees this evening. I don't believe that the temperature has anything to do with it because today was 40 degrees when it stalled. My father is a mechanic he is stomped on what could be the problem. I don't think its the emergancy fuel cut off swtich because I could hear the fuel pumps working before I tried to start the engine. Thanks for the reply.

Q: Will a Dana 44 axle off of a ford bronco work on a jeep wrangler?
I found a Front Dana 44 Axle off of a ford bronco for a good price... Will it work for my 2005 Wrangler?? Does anyone know where i can get a rear one for a good price? If i cant find a rear axle immediately would i have to change the rear gears to match the front ones?

A: The diff is indeed on the correct side, and the width is very close to correct. You will need to weld the correct mounts on, but it is a good choice of frontend for your TJ. BTW, the lugs are 5 on 5 1/2", the same as a CJ or a Scout. Your TJ is 5 on 4 1/2". A Bronco 9" rearend would be a good match, as would a CJ widetrack 44 ('86 model) or a Scout 44 rear. You would then use wheels intended for a CJ. Re your additional question: yes, you would have to change the rear gears to use it in 4 wheel drive. However, you could drive it in 2wd with non-matching gears. I wouldn't spend the money for new gears in your existing rearend; I would instead buy a better rearend and install it, and drive it like that while saving for my gear ratio of choice. If the frontend has the original gearing, you may even be able to find a good rearend with gears that match your frontend.

Q: What are the float adjustments for a 1981 Ford Bronco (straight 6) carburetor?
My husband is out working on our Bronco and the float has come out of adjustment, the Bronco will not idle at stoplights. He used to have a piece of paper with the information on it, but it got lost when we moved last month. Does anybody have the specs on where a carburetor for a 1981 Ford Bronco should be? It's a one barrel. 300 cubic inch engine.

A: Since you have to open it up to adjust the float, get a carb rebuild kit. The kit will have the gauge for the float in it.

Q: Where is the horn located on a 1989 Ford Bronco?
My little brother is trying to install a new horn on his Bronco, but we can't seem to find it. The old manual inside the truck is no help at all, and I can't seem to find anything archived on the Ford website. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A: On my 92 bronco, it was in front of the battery right behind the passenger side headlight.

Q: could someone give me the 1995 Ford Bronco redlines?
I have a 1995 Ford bronco. It's a manual and ford decided not to put in a tach. It's a 5 speed manual, V-8 302. I was wondering if someone with the same transmission and engine could find out the redlines of the gears in MPH. I repeat MPH lol. Or even find them on the internet, because I can't. Thanks! yes, i know the engine redline. I dont have a tachometer so I dont know the RPMs. I need to know redline in MPH. Stock tire size stock gear ratios, nothing special.

A: That's gonna vary due to tire size and gear ratio in the axles. 5000rpm is the engine redline.

Q: What kind of suspension does a 1990 full sized Ford Bronco have?
I'm looking at trading a guy my Ford van for a 1990 full sized Ford Bronco, but I don't know if it has a solid axle up front or if it is an independent front suspension. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

A: The Bronco suspension is based on the F-150 and after 1986 was given TTB (twin traction beam) setup in the front end for an independent front suspension.

Q: Does anyone know what size the 4 speaker areas are in a 1995 Ford Bronco?
Im getting speakers formy Ford Bronco andlooking for a placeto install them so does anyone knowhow big the front and back ones are?And also a placethat installsthem for free?

A: Front: 6 1/2" Rear: 6 x 8" (Typical Ford Mid-Panel setup) Not sure who will install for free. If you're a good negotiator, you might talk a car audio place into doing it by paying full retail price of a pair of speakers instead of talking them down on the price or something of the sort. The other option is to find a buddy that can do it. (Although speaker replacement is farily easy ... you might want to look into doing it yourself.)

Q: How many miles does a Ford Bronco get to the gallon?
I am sixteen and wanting to purchase my first car. I really like Broncos, but am wondering about their gas mileage.... SO.... FORD BRONCO OWNERS OUT THERE--HOW MANY MILES DOES YOUR BRONCO GET TO THE GALLON. Specifically 1994 or new Broncos ('cause my folks won't let me get one that doesn't have airbags).

A: If it is well tuned and I drive as if my insurance rep is sitting shotgun, 13 mpg is tops

Q: What to do first with my 1990 Ford Bronco Off-Road experiment truck?
I just purchased a 90 Ford Bronco with the 302. It has a decent body and the motor still runs strong. It has decent off-road tires and shocks, but no lift or anything else. Mileage is 110000. How should I go about getting this truck is good running order and off-road capability to run the trails... nothing crazy... just some logging trails or something similar... Thank you!

A: leave like it is. throw an extra tire or 2 in the back and go try it out. if it breaks call a buddy, fix it, try it again

Q: I am searching for a picture of a 1986 ford bronco with a soft top?
I was in Arizona this week and took a jeep tour in the desert. The car I was in was a 1986 Ford Bronco with a soft top. Now I want to buy one but I can't find a picture to show my wife....Please help.

A: I would suggest you look online at the used car sales websites it is a possibility they could have what you are looking for and since they do not make that particular model anymore you would probably have to buy a used one or it might be possible if you look in a dealer and ask if they have an old brochure that you could have or at least show your wife at the dealership Good Luck !

Q: How do you take the top off on a '86 Ford Bronco?
I have a 1986 ford bronco, I just got it, and I really want to take the top off but dont want to screw anything up. Can someone please tell me how to properly take the top off?

A: Check how this guy did it, pretty heavy tops: http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/media/492073 you just have to take the interior trim off that surrounds the top. take the bolts out and take it off, it is no trouble at all if you dont have those torx bolts.
