Q: Pontiac Aztec?
I have a Pontiac Aztec and I heard there is a tent that you can attach to the back if this is true where can I get one?

A: Yes there is. You would need to go to your local pontiac dealer and see the parts department.

Q: how much does it cost to fix piston rod bearing failure in a 2001 pontiac aztec?
I have a 2001 Pontiac Aztec which I bought used 8 months ago. the vehicle started acting funny on me and I went to get it checked out. I was told that the issue was a piston rod bearing that needs to be fixed. I didn't want to get caught up in overpaying for a service so I'm wondering what's the fair/average price for fixing this?

A: A little more info. needed. A rod bearing won't make a car "act funny" it will make a knocking noise and possibly cause low oil pressure. Sounds like you are being set up for a rip off. If you are at the dealer, get out and get a second opinion.

Q: How do you release the spare tire from a 2001 Pontiac Aztec?
My Aztec didnt come with a manual. I have had 2 flats tires now, and have not been able to release the spare tire. There doesnt seem to be a tire release in it. I dont want to be stranded again without knowing that I can get the spare tire off. Thank you, for any real answers I can get.

A: Here's the owner's manual online for ya!!! http://www.aztekfanclub.com/files/01ownersmanual.pdf

Q: My 2001 Pontiac Aztec is turning 4500rpm's at 70mph and struggling. What could be wrong?
Just bought this car two weeks ago, yeah I know an ugly aztec but it was at a good price, now i know why now. HELP.

A: Transmission's not shifting into the highest gear. Need to get your transmission checked out. That may be why you got a "good deal" on it. Caveat Emptor! (buyer beware)

Q: What could cause the windshield wiper fluid on my 2002 Pontiac Aztec to not pump?
The wipers work and the fuse is not blown. The fluid resevoir is full.

A: The fluid may have froze. Do you get your vehicle serviced @ a "cheap" shop or do you puschase it in gallon jugs? Some less than honest service centers dillute their product, I DO NOT! When you hit the "squirter" can you hear a motor trying to run? If so, the pump is ok & your fluid is frozen & you need to bring it indoors or use a hair dryer on lines & resevior.

Q: Where is the fuel filter located on a 2001 Pontiac Aztec?
I need to replace mine, I'm assuming it's under the hood or under the vehicle somewhere. It has a 3.4 L V6 Engine that is Fuel Injected. I am trying to replace it on my own.

A: there are 3 .... one in your tank, one under your car attached to the frame, and one near or in your carb..... i need to know the engine and carb type

Q: Where is the CPU in a 2003 Pontiac Aztec located?
I have a check engine light on and need to know where the CPU is located so I can run the code. Thank you!

A: somewhere in the vacinity of the relay box.

Q: I need information on the anti theft device on a 2004 pontiac Aztec rally?
My keys were in the ignition of the car and the drivers side door was locked so the back door was unlocked so someone went through the back door to grab the keys out of the ignition and hit the unlock button on the remote now the car wont start how can I fix this problem?

A: When you try and start the car does it make any noise will the key cylinder turn? Do any of the dash lights come on? Have you tried another key? This situation should not cause any problems unless the system was damaged. If it was a security problem if you wait half an hour and then try and start the security system should reset. Of courses the system should reset as soon as the key was put in.

Q: Just bought a 03 Pontiac Aztec with 22k miles! Do anyone else own one and what kind of problems should I expec

A: The only problem that i have ran into is that your car has a 3400 or 3.4 liter engine and they have a faulty intake gasket that will leak coolant into the engine. To check for this comon problem just remove the oil cap and see if there is any milky or creamy white residue on the cap.The gasket will start to leak anywhere between 50-100,000 miles so if you start to lose coolant take it to the shop for a checkup

Q: I need the number and location of the cigarette lighter fuse for a 2001 pontiac aztec?
is it in the undehood or under console fuse box?

A: number 20 fuse, inside of the fuse box under the hood of the car.

Q: I'm thinking of buying a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, 2001 Aztec, or 2004 Grand Prix? Opinions?
Are there any owners out there of a 2000 Pontiac Bonnevile? I like how it looks and I am thinking of buying it. I am also considering the 2004 Grand Prix or a 2001 Pontiac Aztec. Thoughts?

A: Each has its advantages. I think the '04 Grand Prix would give you the best car for the money.

Q: 2003 Pontiac Aztec low beams down and fuses and relay still fine?
Any ideas? The low beams went out suddenly while driving at night! I checked the fuses under the hood and they were all fine. I checked the relay for the low beams and it too wasn't the problem (swapped it with high beam relay to check). I'm wondering if anyone knows what else I should check before bringing it into a shop. Thanks! Yes, my wife said the lights seemed dimmer so that could be it...also the dimmer switch might be an option. Thanks you both for your comments!!

A: what kind of lights do you have? Did you check the bulbs? sometimes one bulb will be blown, and you dont notice it until the other one goes out.

Q: Where can I find the fuse for the fans that cool the engine in a 2003 pontiac aztec?

A: There should be some info in the owners manual that will tell you where everything is at. But I would say the fuses are located under the hood near the battery. If the fuse is blown, you'll have to find out what caused it to blow in the first place, such as a short to ground. The fans are controlled by a relay in the same fuse box the fan fuses are located. I would guess the relay or the fan motor itself are the problem.

Q: is there anything about the pontiac aztec that i should know before i buy one?
what is a good price for a 2002 pontiac aztec with 90000 miles

A: The 2002 Pontiac Aztec has Much-Worse-Than-Average reliability ratings in the following categories: Engine Major Engine Cooling Drive System Electrical System Climate System Suspension Brakes Body Hardware Power Equipment and has Worse-Than-Average reliability ratings in the following categories: Engine Minor Fuel System Audio System. Its overall Reliability Verdict is Much-Worse-Than-Average. And the Pontiac Aztek has these distinctions as well: 1. It is on Consumer Reports 2008 list of the Worst of the Worst. 2. It is on AutoOnInfo.net's 2008 list of Automobiles with Worst Engine Reliability, with an Engine Reliability Rating of -1.00 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00. 3. It has a 5-year Reliability Percentrank average of .05 on a scale of 0.00 to 1.00. For reference, the overall 5-year Reliability Percentrank average of the Pontiac line is .24, GM's overall 5-year average is .31, Honda's is .84, and Toyota's is .89. The Reliability Percentrank of the 2002 Pontiac Aztek is .02. Consequently, it would seem wise to factor into the purchase price the cost of substantial repairs over the next few years, as well as the time required to take the vehicle to the mechanic.

Q: How many miles could I expect a 2002 Pontiac Aztec to last?

A: You could easily get a couple hundred thousand miles out of it. Trust me, my family only buys GM cars. Usually they buy due to how cheap you can get them used. They usually drive them pretty much forever and pass them on to family members. My aunt has a Grand Prix with the same 3.4 L V6 that your Aztek has. They have 170,000 miles on it and it runs fine. They haven't really did anything to it either. We have several other GM cars with over 100,000 miles on them also.
