Q: Pontiac G6?
I am considering buying a new 07 Pontiac G6. I would prefer a Camry or Accord but the G6 is the right price for my budget. Any opinions of the G6? Personal experiences?

A: I have a 06 Pontiac G6, I brought 9 months ago. It runs well, is good on gas and comfortable to drive in. I love it!

Q: Is the Pontiac G6 GTP considered a "sports car" as far as insurance companies are concerned?
In other words, is the insurance more expensive than just a Pontiac G6?

A: I wouldn't be too sure about that. Don't make any assumptions until you've actually checked it out. I bought a Grand Am SE a few years ago and one of the factors that played into me getting the SE as opposed to the GT was that I thought I'd have to pay higher insurance for the GT. I don't believe that was accurate now and I wish I would've done more homework on that. Instead of worrying about the letters behind the car's model name I would be worrying about your (years of) driving experience, your driving record and your age. Those will be the primary factors in your car insurance rate.

Q: How many quarts of oil are needed for a 2006 Pontiac G6?
I'm about to change my oil this weekend by myself and I have no clue how many quarts of oil to use. I also need to know if I can change my oil using the regular jack to jack up the front end. I have a 2006 Pontiac G6, 4 door, V6. Hope this helps and if you could cite an answer that would be better. Thanks!

A: In the owners manual under specs and capacities, it will clearly state what viscosity to use and how much. Yes you can use the regular jack to lift the front end. That's what I do. I'm a fat dude & though it's a little tight under the car, it can be done.

Q: How do I install XM radio in a Pontiac G6 car 2006 that already is XM radio? Too much static and interference
How do I install XM radio in my Pontiac G6 2006. It says factory installed. however i installed the xm radio as I installed it on my van previously, and i get major static, and interference. I have no antenna in the car. Its a built in antenna, so I am so confused.

A: the G6 has xm ready on the FACTORY RADIO (all u had to do was call up xm and activate it) but yeah u got ur own, built-in antenna ? built into ur radio already?, or the car? the car has a built-in antenna and is still recieving, which ur xm is still recieving its signal and they are 2 signals one pos. yours, the other neg. G6 signal ................................. OR dis-connecting the xm w/out contacting xm could cancel the subscription or suspend it shortly ..i had xm on my alpine system 4 a year, they canceled, o.k. the next year i put that system in another volvo and it came on ON. W/OUT A BILL! a few pros say i might b lost in the system, unfortunatly u can get lost out of the system also.

Q: How do I work my cd player in my 2005 Pontiac G6?
I just bought a 2005 Pontiac G6 and it has a spot to put a cd in and a button that makes the display say "load single cd" but it wont accept any cd I try to put in it. Does the cd player come standard on a G6?

A: Insert a CD partway into the slot, label side up. The player will pull it in and the CD should begin playing. If you want to insert a CD with the ignition off, first press the eject button or the DISP knob. If that doesn't work you should take your veh to a dlrship. The CD player did come standard with the veh.

Q: Can I remove corrosion from my 08 Pontiac G6 wheel weights?
I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 Coupe with chrome wheels. I got some of the spray chrome polish on the wheel weights around the rims. The chrome looks great, but the weights look rusty greenish brown and corroded. Can I buy a polish to remove and re-shine them? Thanks!

A: I think any kind of metal polish should clean up the weights and make them look presentable, if they are not coated weights. Alot of new wheel weights are now painted to keep from looking bad after awhile. If you want to never worry about this happening again, have your wheels rebalanced at a tire shop, and ask for a static balance on their spin balancer. This will place all the weights on the back side of the wheel. This is not as accurate of a balance as dynamic balancing, which places weights on both sides, but It eliminates ugly weights on the wheel. I mount and balance my own tires, and if the ride is not as much of a concern as looks, I always static balance.

Q: Does the pontiac g6 have cup holders in the back seat?
Does the pontiac g6 have cup holders in the back seat? From pictures it looks not to have one. Does it?

A: No sorry they don't have cup holders in the back. Aside from that its a great car. I just sold a 2008 G6 sedan 25000 miles certified for $14000. They get great gas mileage most of my customers tell me 35 mpg on the highway. Thanks for looking at an American car.

Q: Do I need to change coollant for my Pontiac G6 2007?
Hi I bought a Pontiac G6 2007 five months ago. I am wondering whether I need to change the coolant for this car. I did not find coolant tank in the front of the car. Please help with some information. Thanks. Thanks all for the information. I am relieved that I do not need to worry about changing coolant in the near future.

A: I've heard that you get it flushed every few years to make sure the coolant is able to protect your car to the fullest. Your car should be good for a few years anyway I mean 5 months isn't really anything. Also for the location of your radiator or overfill check your owners manual.

Q: Is there aux input on the back of 06 pontiac G6 with monsoon radio 6cd?
i have an 06 pontiac g6 gt with the 6cd monsoon radio. i really want an aux input. i'm trying to figure the best way out. any help would be great. or i wouldn't mind getting a radio from an 08 model but i don't know how to find one.

A: Yes, there is a proprietary GM 12-pin aux plug on the back of your radio. I would stay away from FM modulated (wired or wireless) unless you have NO other option. It is NOT the best thing since sliced bread in most applications. It IS a nice option if you have no factory aux input or it's being used and can't be shared or if your goal is to spend the least amount possible, regardless of sound quality. In most standard applications, an auxiliary input adapter that connects to the back of the radio using the proprietary factory aux input plug is the best option. (When you don't have a factory installed 3.5mm jack on the radio face or in the dash, obviously.) An aux input plug is a TRUE direct connection and will give the best possible audio quality (assuming you buy from a company who makes a quality product.) It may cost a little bit more but it's less hassle to install and is accessed from the radio, instead of by 'throwing' a separate switch. I would recommend the following device, as long as you don't have factory XM. It will give you an aux input AND an iPod connection: http://replacementradios.com/product_info.php?cPath=341_351&products_id=794

Q: My Pontiac G6 Rattles when I apply my breaks on the road. What is going on?
I drive a Pontiac G6 not sure what year. Each time I drive on the road and I need to apply my breaks to slow down at any current speed, my car rattles. There isn't any squealing though so I'm not sure if the discs are worn or if there is a much more serious problem. If anyone has any ideas as to what may be going on it would be much appreciated.

A: Several possibilities include warped front brake rotors which shake the car as your braking. But you'd also notice a pulsation in the brake pedal too when you were braking. The front brake calipers are pincers that compress the brake pads against the metal rotors. It's possible the the caliper bolts or pads could loosen. There are also many bushings and joints in the front end that wear and need replacement, including the stabilizer bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, McPherson struts, and even the wheel bearings and lug nuts. In your case, I would take the car to a garage that does general repair as well as front end suspension and alignment work.

Q: Where can I find custom fit back seat covers for a 2005 Pontiac G6?
I have a 2005 Pontiac G6 and have been looking for some seat covers for the back seat and wanted to know if anyone knew of any online places for custom fit back seat covers.

Q: I have a pontiac G6. Would removing the resonator give it that muscle car sound? is this safe to do to ur car?
Its a 2005 pontiac G6 GT. With a V6 engine, my friend told me to remove the resonator, does this REALLY make your car sound like a older muscle car? Also can i pass an inspection with it? I've never heard of this resonator stuff before so, any answer would be great. Thanks!

A: it will sound differnt, but i dont think you'll sound like a v8. as far as inspection, as soon as you remove it, your going to throw a check engine light, so no, you wont pass inspection. also resonator is just anther name for catalitic converter. good luck
