Q: Is the heads up display available on the Pontiac G8?
On the Pontiac Bonneville and Grand Prix (since at least 1998) you could get a heads up display that shows miles per hour on the windshield. Is this option available on the new G8?

A: Unfortunately, no... And AFAIK, not in the works for 2009 either.

Q: pontiac g8?
im getting a new car as soon as something goes through..ive been looking into a g8 and im pretty sure thats what i want! since they are very new not alot of people around my town have them!!.. so anyone who has one.. what are your dislikes and likes about your g8!?

A: Wait a minute there squirrely... The G8 GT (V8) economy rating is 15/24, the V6 is 17/25. You're only talking about a 1 MPG difference at the top and 2 at the bottom. Combined numbers are very similar. That is because the V8 comes with a 6 speed auto, vs a 5 speed in the base G8. Therefore I wouldn't shy away from the V8, at least not for economy reasons. I've driven several, and have ordered a GT for my wife. I think they are fabulous. BTW, I have the sister car - the 2005 GTO. I absolutely love it. Based on that I would not hesitate to buy a G8.

Q: Has anyone bought the new Pontiac G8 (the first 888)? Did you have to pay a dealer extra chg due to low inven
Bought one of the first 888 of the Pontiac G8 with all the bells and whistles. And due to only 888 being in production the dealer tacked on an additional $6000 premium. Only 12 are being delivered to each state.

A: Yes dealers can charge more than MSRP on any vehicle, especially those which are in limited production or high demand. In the end it makes absolutely no sense to pay $6000 over sticker on any vehicle. Everyone including the dealer knows that a new car is the worst investment you can make.

Q: What is a better vehicle Pontiac g8 or Audi Q5?
I am aware they are very different vehicles but i want a strong yet fast vehicle and in that case they are very similar, the pontiac has so much more horsepower which makes the choice hard, why cant the audi have more horsepower (the Pontiac G8 gxp has 415 hp :O the q5 only has like 270). Thanks

A: The Audi Q5 already has lots of HP is you are talking about the Q5. That is the most powerful compact SUV. It is more practical and much better in snow and much more luxurious and more comfortable and has better interior quality. If you like sports cars, go for the Pontiac. It is more fun to drive.

Q: Is it a risk to buy a Pontiac G8 Base?
It would be my first car (I am only 18) and I wish I could get a Pontiac G8 GT, but I am not getting it. Do you guys have any other cars I might like that are similar to Pontiac G8 Base? Let's say I like fast cars with over at least 240 HP and the budget is around 28k with rebates and dealer cash.

A: G6 GXP. They look slick, fun to drive, have plenty of power and are great performance for the price. If you really want to have a blast, I hear the new Cobalt SS with the Turbo charger on it just kills other cars in it's class. It's a light little car with a ton of power. I wouldn't get the G8 base for the simple reason that it's sort of like getting a mustang with a v6 in it. sure it's a mustang, but once everyone sees you only have the v6, you just get made fun of. (by car enthusiasts anyways) Cobalt SS or G6 GXP those are my votes.

Q: How much does it cost to lease a Pontiac G8?
I know it will vary some, but I'm just curious if anyone has an estimate or possible ranges to expect. If you or someone you know is currently leasing or works at a dealership and you know please let me know.

A: I have seen a wide range of payments but most have been in the $450 to $600 range depending on time, money down, credit.

Q: What do you think of the Pontiac G8?
I've been seeing a couple of them floating around now and they are gorgeous. They just look fast compared to other cars. I'm a Pontiac fan(I own an 00 Grand Prix) so perhaps I'm biased. As such I wanna know what you regular people think. Doc, the car is built in Austrailia... And Accords/Camrys are built in the US and they are reliable.

A: Top machine, very sporty looks , and its a high performance car,and yes its fast,.being a "regular" person I feel am qualified to respond,. Plus I looked it up,.

Q: What would be the monthly payment for a 36 month/12000 mile lease on a Pontiac G8?
I can get GM supplier discount. The sticker price on the one I want is $30,665.

A: It depends on the price discount you negotiate, the money factor (depends on your credit score), the lease-end residual value, the term, and any down payment you might make. If some of this doesn't make sense to you, you don't understand leasing, which means you could easily make a mistake. Here's a web site that might help you understand how leasing works, and which includes a payment calculator to let you determine your monthly payment: http://www.leaseguide.com/index2.htm .

Q: When will the Pontiac G8 be on the dealer lots to buy?
I know it is out, but when is it out to be purchased

A: I'm a small dealer, and I'm expecting my first one in about a month...

Q: how do you open the fuel door on a pontiac g8 gt?
i can't find a button anywhere and there is no lip on the exterior of the car to grab. im sure its simple i just cant find the damn thing lol.

A: I think you give it a little push and the door will pop open.

Q: What do you think of the new Pontiac G8?
I think the new Pontiac G8 is a hot car. Reviews compared it to one of the BMW series being pretty much the same but half the price. I finally like the exterior, not a fan of Pontiac looks from the past, but this car looks hot and an awesome deal for a great car. Pontiac is definitely moving in the right direction, what do you guys think? pic here http://www.pontiac.com/g8/

A: This car SUCKS. Just like the new M3 SUCKS. I hate to say it...but a sports car SHOULD NOT WEIGH 3600+ lbs!! It's criminal. The M3's used to be light and FUN. Now they're heavy and comfy...the opposite of fun. Same goes for the G8...it's got a semi-strong V8, but it's still only a low 14 car....and it's not fun.

Q: How would a pontiac G8 handle on ice compared to other cars?

A: It is an Australian built car: it is not too great with all that power and yet will still benefit from chains/snow tyres. Snow and ice are not big things over here! Corrosion might be an issues, it is hard to say. Oh, and before people claim it is an "all American car" : designed in Australia, shares no model designations, platform or design elements with US domestic product (or, as in times past, with Opel product). The engine is American though: LS1 or LS3 from the GM parts bin. Oh, and as to Jason's ugly comments, funny, that's how we Aussies and Europeans see American cars: uglier than most! The VE Commodore (on which the G8 is based) has a lot of European design elements, but is um, given some American styling cues like the UGLY front grille for your market.

Q: what do you think is better pontiac g8 gt or mustang gt?
Like speed, looks, horsepower, price etc.. Trying to choose out of those two and wanted to get your opinion.

A: Pontiac G8 GT by far. The Mustang has one of the weakest V8 engines ever made in the past 10 years. Lots of 6 cylinder cars and some 4 cylinder cars have more than 300HP, which is what the Mustang GT has The G8 GT is really the sporty Holden Monaro sports sedan from Australia. It handles much better, goes much faster, and has a Corvette engine.

Q: Are You Going To Get A Pontiac G8?
Pontiac G8's left Aussie land on the 19th of December and the first 888 of them will be "special" Are you going to get one? If so, 3.6L or 6.0L? Next year they will be made in Canada, so they say.

A: well... i would love to own a new G8, they b hot! engine wise, either is a good pick, the 3.6 with a twin turbo kit would be a rocket, and the 6.0 is a great engine with plenty or tire spinning power as well.

Q: How is the Pontiac G8 GT?
I am looking to buying a new Pontiac, and I really like the G8 GT. Currently, I have a 2006 base model Grand Prix, with all the base model extras. I love it, and it has great acceleration. How would the HP be different between a base model grand prix, and a G8 GT? And, overall how is the car. Thanks!

A: Holy cow, you're only talking about a 200 horse difference... LOL. I sold my Bonneville and got the G8 GT. I love this car. Love it, love it, love it. Much more room inside, better handling, more power, and you don't see them on the road at all. Listen, you get 95% of the performance of a BMW for half the price, with great looks to boot.
